Overview

What is the Reminders Concept?
A Reminder is a brief (sentence-long) message that reminds the User* about an event or action that has either occurred or is scheduled to occur
Why use the Concept?
Reminders help forgetful Users and eliminate the potential for missing upcoming commitments. For example, you can use Reminders to notify Referees of upcoming Assignments
How is the concept implemented?
When a User clicks to a particular Segment* of the Site* (e.g. Referee), the Site automatically displays a "Reminder List" based on conditions like upcoming Assignments.

Comments

Usually, Reminders expire based on calendar date and/or time, or by the User no longer being associated with the Reminder (e.g. the Referee was removed from an upcoming Assignment).

You can also use Reminders in other Segments of the Site, if desired. For example, Administrators can be notified that a new User has requested Site Registration.
